Professional Area Rug Cleaning in Italy, TX
Learn about Italy, TX:
Located on the Texas blackland prairies 45 miles south of Dallas, the city of Italy was first settled in the 1860s. In 1879, the first house in town was built by the Aycock brothers, who used it not only as a residence but also as a merchandise shop and as a post office. In the same year, postmaster Gabriel Penn named the community Italy because he believed the town's climate was similar to that found in Italy in Europe. By the year 1890, the town had around 500 residents. Its economy depended on crops like cotton, corn, wheat, and sweet potatoes, but the driving force behind its further growth came in the form of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, which opened a track through the city in 1890. In 1891, the town was officially incorporated. Because it is home to several schools, Italy attracted many new residents who wanted to enroll their children. The city's population grew steadily, rising to more than 1,500 by 1925. Two other important railway companies inaugurated tracks in Italy in the early 20th century. First, it was the International-Great Northern Railroad in 1901, and then it was followed by the Texas Electric Railway in 1913. This opened the city to more trade. Economic activity declined during the Great Depression, and it took another three decades before the city's economy recovered again in the 1970s. Today, Italy is home to more than 2,000 people.
In order to preserve the beauty and material integrity of area rugs, one needs to observe basic home cleaning and maintenance practices. These include regularly vacuuming the rug, rotating it for even wear, using furniture coasters to prevent depressions, and using a high quality rug pad to reduce friction between the rug and the floor.
It is especially important to maintain the cleanliness of expensive types of rugs like Oriental, Persian, Navajo, and silk rugs. Dirt can accumulate in between the rug's piles, which can eventually ruin the product. Furthermore, you don't really want allergens from building up in your rug, do you?
In between regular home cleaning, rugs should also be taken to a professional cleaner like Dalworth Rug Cleaning. This not only cleans the rug thoroughly of dirt and debris, it also gets rid of hard-to-remove stains like those made by pets or by spilled food and drinks. Plus, with our specialized rug protection and rug repair, even old, damaged rugs can look brand new again.
