The customer contacted our professional rug care facility because their high-pile sculpted rose shag rug had sustained substantial surface wear, severe matting, and deep-seated organic contamination from routine residential use. Sited in a central living zone, the thick fibres had accumulated a heavy-to-moderate layer of embedded dust and gritty tracking soils that heavily dulled the neutral tone and obscured the sculpted floral pattern. Compounding this daily traffic wear, the textile had been exposed to direct liquid accidents from pets that left behind unsightly stains and stubborn sub-surface odours, alongside several loose pulled fibres, distinct furniture marks, and severe nap distortion where heavy furniture legs had flattened and crushed the deep shag pile. These combined factors left the pile looking compacted, tangled, and soiled, creating an immediate need for an expert, multi-stage in-plant immersion wash and fibre conditioning treatment.

Our team executed a customised, deep-cleaning and pile-lifting protocol, starting with a mechanical dry-soil dusting to safely vibrate and flush out deep-seated grit from the backing structure before introducing any moisture. We then applied a specialized, enzyme-rich pre-treatment across the surface to thoroughly break down crystallised pet urine salts and eliminate subsurface organic odours at their source. The textile was then moved to our wash floor for a gentle submersion bath using low-pH, fibre-safe shampoos and soft counter-rotational brushes, which safely suspended the traffic grime and allowed our technicians to carefully steam-condition the deep furniture marks, swelling the crushed shag pile back to its original plush height. Finally, after hand-trimming the loose pulled fibres to blend seamlessly with the surrounding contours and performing a high-volume, low-pressure sub-surface flush to rinse away all loosened residues, the rug was transferred to our climate-controlled drying tower where the long nap was hand-groomed for a beautifully restored, clean, and fluffy finish.
