The customer brought in their traditional red Persian wool area rug for specialist in-plant cleaning, nap restoration, and structural corner repair. The rug had accumulated heavy-to-moderate embedded soil across the intricate medallion field, along with noticeable pile and nap distortion in traffic areas, uneven and unravelled end fringes, and two vulnerable, fraying corners requiring reinforcement and securing.
We provided a comprehensive multi-step in-plant hand-washing, pile restoration, and master textile repair treatment. Our specialists began with front-and-back harmonic dry dusting to dislodge abrasive grit settled deep within the wool pile and cotton warp foundation. We submerged and hand-washed the rug using gentle, pH-balanced wool shampoos, followed by a thorough clear-water rinse. Our repair artisans carefully secured, bound, and reinforced the two damaged corner sections to prevent structural unraveling, while trimming and aligning the fringe ends. Finally, we groomed the wool pile direction to correct nap distortion and dried the rug in a climate-controlled drying room to restore its rich colour vibrancy and pile resilience.
