The customer brought in their cream and crimson wool area rug for specialist in-plant washing, dye stability assessment, and deep stain treatment. The rug had sustained preexisting colour bleeding and dye migration from the reddish floral motifs into the light cream field, along with embedded soil and prominent localized stains
We provided a specialised dye-stabilised in-plant rug washing and stain remediation treatment. Our technicians first conducted extensive colourfastness and 24-hour bleed testing on both the crimson wool motifs and cream foundation fibres to evaluate dye stability. To prevent further dye transfer, we applied an acid-side dye-setting mordant bath prior to precision hand-washing with gentle, pH-balanced wool detergents. We carried out targeted stain spot treatments across affected zones, followed by controlled low-moisture rinsing, fringe detailing, and rapid horizontal drying in our temperature-controlled drying room to preserve tonal separation and prevent wick-back.
