Step 2: Detailed Follow-Up Rug Inspection

After your rug arrives at our cleaning facility, a certified rug specialist re-measures it and performs a thorough second inspection. This helps us identify the rug’s fiber type, construction, and any unique care needs. The technician also selects the most suitable cleaning method, products, and drying process. During this step, we carefully check and document any existing rug issues, including:

• Dye stains, color bleeding, discoloration, and browning

• Worn or damaged fringes
• Pet odors and waste, including urine, feces, and vomit

Step 4: Clear Water Rug Cleaning, Immersion Wash and Rinse

After dusting and before washing your rug, we test the rug for colorfastness. We determine the amount of moisture the rug can tolerate to achieve the best rug cleaning results while maintaining the color vibrancy of the rug without dye bleeds. We select gentle cleaning agents based on your rug's condition, and we use a clear-water rinse to wash out all removable stains, dirt, and odors. Our rug technicians do this rug cleaning process by hand, and we repeat it until the rug water washes clear and we are satisfied with the results.

Step 5: Fresh Air Rug Drying

Once clean, we air dry each rug for natural and gentle rug care. Some rugs are hung to dry, using gravity to pull water out, while other rugs are dried flat. We determine the best drying method for your rug based on your rug type.

Step 6: Rug Combing, Brushing, and Fluffing

As the rug dries, we use combing and brushing or pile-fluffing techniques for the best results to deliver a luxuriously soft rug to you. Your feet will thank us!

Step 7: Rug Fringe Cleaning and Grooming

Once the rug is dry, we groom the fringes and hand comb and trim fringe edges for the final touch to a beautifully clean, fresh, vibrant and restored rug.

Step 9: Optional Rug Protection & Rug Pad Services

As an optional service, we can apply a fiber protector along with a moth, carpet beetle, and insect larvae deterrent to help prevent future stains and damage to your rug. We also provide custom-sized, non-slip rug pads that can be delivered and installed to protect and enhance the life of your fine area rug.
